Class Announcements Field trip to Native LandsThe second grade field trip scheduled for Monday, April 26 will occur today. Please have children dressed to walk in some muddy fields. Children may bring a snack and a water bottle. They will need to carry their own items, so have them bring a bag to carry items. We look forward to an exciting trip!
HomeworkIn second grade this year weekly homework will be given. A packet will be sent home on Monday and due back to school by Friday. In addition to the homework packet students are also required to complete at least 20 minutes of reading 4 times a week.
Learning ObjectivesMath: We are currently working on even and odd numbers, story problems, addition and subtraction
Language Arts: We are focusing on reading for understanding. We are working on identifying strategies to use when an unknown word is read. It is extremely important that students are reading every night. Social Studies: We are working on our last unit of Social Studeis, Economics. We will be studying Needs and wants, resources, barter adn trade, goods and services and producers and consumers. Science: We have recently finished our unit on weather. Our Final Unit will begin in June, Basic Science Skills. |
